Mouse Trap Car
In a small group of 4, I created a car that was powered by the energy of a single mouse trap! The car could go over 15 meters. The only force that allowed it to move was the mouse trap. Not only did it go far, it also went very fast! The car was simple in design and all the materials were found in the home. The idea of a car being made from a mouse trap can be confusing. Concrete Cylinder
I created a concrete cylinder in under 72 hours! Most concrete has over a week to cure. But I had to create it in under 3 days. I had to do the calculations and get the perfect amount of material, to make it as strong as possible. The concrete turned out to be very durable to compression but not to other factors. It did have a few flaws which can be seen in the picture. One of the main drawbacks I had was having holes in the concrete. Nonetheless, how cool is it to be able to successfully make concrete (with basic knowledge)!
Chess Pieces
I created all 6 types of chess pieces in a 3D modeling software called Onshape. For this project I was tasked with recreating the chess pieces following a consistent theme. The chess pieces have the capability to be 3D printed into actual chess pieces. For me this was a great experience to dip my feet in 3D modeling and get used to it. It was a good learning experience and helped me create future projects .
3D House
I created a WHOLE house in Onshape. I went through the basic house design process to model a house in Onshape. First I sketched out the floor plans on paper and made rough dimensions. Then I moved it over to CAD and made them into real floorplans. These floorplans had exact dimensions for each of the rooms. It included a living room, kitchen, dining room, power room, 3 full bathrooms, a garage, game room, 3 bedrooms, and a master bedroom. It was two floors and it included many inner details. Then I turned the floor plans into a 3D house. This house project was my biggest project in Onshape and took me weeks to make. Making the house taught me so many things about the software. It was really fun and cool to make.
Python Game
I created a text-based game in python. It runs in the console and only outputs text. It was a cool game I made for an engineering project. The game is called Raid Villagers. It features many things such as a shop, upgrade menu, battle menu, and so on. Link to Game
